OK,finished… not a great movie… not bad either… one of those, I'll probably never watch again.

Spidermand 1 and 2

So tonight I saw the Spiderman movies. Yes, I do realize they have been in theaters and out now for some time, but do to circumstances, which I do not at this moment know what they are, I did not see the movies. So Adam and I made a date and we watched them back to back. Allow me to say, I did enjoy the movies a fair amount. The only Spiderman comic books I ever read involved Venom, so I was not too familiar with the villains I did not bring any expectations to the movie. As the movies rolled out, they were fast paced and true to their origins, even if the stories were not cannon. I though all the casting was done very well, and each actor filled the role very well. When I saw the actor, I believed I was looking in the comic book. Over all, the movie was fun, and a good watch. I would give it a 8/10.

As for Spiderman 3. This upcoming movie is supposedly featuring Venom. Venom being one of my favorite characters, and one of which I do know a fair amount on, having spent lots of money when I was younger buying up all the original comic books. Now the main problem I see is that the original symbiont comes from a different planet, during a strange story line. This has a simple solution…

During the night a meteorite is seen enter the atmosphere and impacting. As the camera gets close to the crater, smoke is coming out and upon further inspection there seems to be a black liquid bubbling to the surface. If begin to gather and congeal. It slowly takes shape of a blob that moves around just a little. This black blob is discovered by a scientist who scoops it into a jar and takes it with him to a laboratory. During his experiments, he begins to observe it reacting and adapting to external forces around it. Upon further discoveries it is shown that the black blob will cover a living animal and give it extraordinary strength, but after a while the symbiont will kill it's host and move on, especially of there is a stronger host to attach to. At this point we find out that the scientist works for Osborn and decides to show his discovery to Harry. Harry still vengeful the death of his takes this opportunity to exact his revenge. Seeing what the black blob will do, he has it attached into a self discentigrading mesh that gives it a form of a suite, a new Spiderman suit to be specific. Harry then calls up his friend and tries to berry the hatchet and make amends and offers a new suit to Peter as a showing of good faith. He accepts, and takes the suit with him and begins to use it, thanks to the enhancements it provides.

From here other stuff happens and a good movie is made.

Review:

Hitler, a human? what about all the people around him? nothing but spawns of Satan with no feelings. I do not deney that Nazi Germany was evil and wrong, and that the Nazi leadership were insane murderers, but not all Nazis were evil. The potrail of Hitlers sectretary Traudl Jungeand seeing the last days of the elite through here eyes was an unique portrait. THe most dusturbing part was wathing the Goebbels kill their children in their sleep. Such inocents in them, then the shells were raining down, they belived it was thunder. Such innocents in a time where inocents did not exist. Some of the officers truely human and simpathetic traped in a nightmare of scenarios. A dream where one could not wake up from. One of the most enjoyable aspects of this movie was the lack of focus on the war, on the killing in masses. Each death that did occure felt personal, even of high ranking Nazi officials when you should have been detached. The movie focues on the humanity, even when you didn’t expect there to be any. War is hell, total war such as this is unimaginable and we as human beings should never experience it. I cannot imagine what it was like for my grandparents and great-grandparents being there, trampled by Geran boots, but then trying to reconsile that they were human, they are loved by someone, they are homesick and just want to be home. Over all, great movie, and highly recommended.

One interesting Person I find is Speer, the architec.

Review: Well, this is not a bad movie, but not that great… well it was good up until the whole virus thing. There should have been a better way of ending the movie, that didn't involve killing the human race. But that could have been entertaining… like come on, there aliens travel across the galaxy looking for planets to plunder, like they could get defeated by these pathetic weaklings. One of the major problems with this movie is the hurra hurra go US… in the light of recent events (well 5 years especially) the last thing anyone needs to do is watch a movie where the British soldier goes "it's the Americans, it's about time".

What Dreams May Come

Review: A pretty sad and depressing story right from the beginning. A man while on a lake in Switzerland meets a girl, who is his soulmate, they fall in love and have a wonderful life. They have two children who meet an unfortunate demise… a few years later he does as well. Robin Williamson ends up in heaven and the story revolves around his experience. His wife overcome with grief commits suicide and is sent into what can be self described as hell. This is the unique part of the film, the concept of hell. I have pondered the question of what is hell, despite being an atheist, the concept of hell still does exist in my own mind. Surprisingly, the concept of hell depicted in the movie is very close to my own idea of sufferer. To me hell is self created, it becomes you, it draws energy from you with out you knowing. It is a spiral of destruction that a person leads themselves into. Hell is self created, it is a need for self punishment, for self torture for not being good enough or failing. Over time you forget that any other thoughts are possible, and existence beyond this self mutilation ceases to exist. I have felt this many times, only to be brought out for a brief period of time by a friend or a lover. But it is easy to slip back, because it is the only thing you know, the only thing that seems to be left. Love over came this in the movie, true soulmate, but I have not found my key for salvation.

Review: Not too many good things can be said about this movie, it had a moment or two, here and there, but this movie was more America America Ra Ra Ra than Independence Day. The poor Russians ones again need the USA's help with a satellite orbiting earth that is ready to come hurdling down to earth, but that must be stopped for some reason, which is kept secret. So they go up, the young rookies mess up, cause danger, screw everything up, the old guys who do things manually save the day, land the Space Shuttle, and one even gets to go to the moon with the secret nuclear payload… Thank INRI I downloaded this and watched it while cleaning my closet, otherwise I would have really been upset for the wasted 90 minutes.

Review: Noooooooooooooooooooo! Ack, don't see this thing unless the only thing you're looking for is to stare at Brad Pitt/George Clooney/Matt Damon/etc. 'cause that's about all you're going to get. in typical Hollywood fashion, a tonne was spent on actors, with the remainder going into special effects. Notice anything missing from that list? writers perhaps? The plot's not really there, and you get the feeling the director shot whatever the hell he thought would look cool, then slapped it all on film and call it a movie. I mean c'mon, at least make a half-hearted effort to tie up the film in the end. Anyway's, the remake of 11 wasn't bad, this one's just there to prey on the gullible, go rent Hero or something, and get a decent movie.

Strange Brew

Review: Ummm, Canadian humor. A wacky film that would make any Canadian cringe, but yet funny. Filmed in Ontario, where two brothers end up working in a beer brewery and end up knee deep in an attempt of a hostile take over of the plant from the deceased brother. This movie has many subtle funny moment, starts off slow, but it is a must see. Rent it, but please, don’t buy it.

Review: It's one of those days, where everything and anything pisses you off. Imagine the day where you just snap and tell the world exactly what you think and how you feel. Well, for Bill Foster sitting in a traffic jam, with no air conditioning this happens, he breaks and goes home. It is an enjoyable movie, well paced with subtle humour of anyone who has been in any of the situation portrait with in this movie. From paying too much for a can of soda to being looked down upon by rich golfers. I can sympathise with Bill, has he lashes out against the flaws of society.
